【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구시의회는 지난 15일 3층 회의실에서 ‘대구광역시 보훈 의식 함양을 위한 토론회’를 열고 보훈 가치의 사회적 확산 방안을 논의했다.

이태손 의원이 진행한 이번 토론회는 보훈 의식이 현대 사회의 통합과 갈등 해소에 핵심 역할을 한다는 인식에서 출발했다. 단순한 기념행사를 넘어 보훈 의식의 본질적 가치를 계승하고 발전시킬 실효성 있는 협력 체계 구축에 초점을 맞췄다.

토론에는 시의회 김태우 의원을 비롯해 계명대 김가은 교수, 대구지방보훈청 김동혁 보훈선양팀장, 영남이공대 김태열 교수, 대구시교육청 안일모 미래교육과 장학관, 상화기념관·이원호 이장가문화관 관장, 대신대학교 조현진 교수가 참여했다.

대구시청 강경희 복지정책과장의 '대구광역시 보훈 정책 및 현황' 발표를 시작으로 국가유공자와 그 가족에 대한 예우 증진 방안이 집중 조명됐다. 

교육 현장에서의 보훈 교육 강화와 지역사회 보훈 문화 확산 전략도 다각도로 검토됐다.

특히 참석자들은 보훈 의식이 사회 통합의 핵심 가치로 자리매김할 수 있는 실질적 방안 제시에 주력했다. 

지방자치단체와 교육기관, 시민사회가 함께 협력할 수 있는 구체적인 협력 체계 모색이 이번 토론회의 핵심 성과로 평가된다.

이태손 의원은 "보훈 의식은 국가를 위해 희생하고 헌신한 분들에 대한 감사와 예우를 넘어 사회 전체의 통합과 발전을 위한 핵심 가치"라며 "이번 토론회를 통해 보훈 의식을 시민들의 일상 속에 자연스럽게 스며들게 할 수 있는 실효성 있는 방안들을 도출하고 향후 의정활동에도 적극 활용하겠다"고 밝혔다.

The key outcome of this forum was the exploration of a concrete cooperative system that fosters collaboration among local governments, educational institutions, and civil society.

Councilmember Lee Tae-son stated, "Veterans affairs awareness goes beyond simply expressing gratitude and respect for those who have sacrificed and dedicated themselves to the nation; it is a core value for the integration and development of society as a whole." He added, "Through this forum, we will develop effective measures to naturally integrate veterans affairs awareness into the daily lives of citizens and actively utilize them in our future legislative activities."
