정 의원은 “도시의 품격을 높이는 공공미술이 제 역할을 하려면 설치 이후 체계적인 관리가 필수다”라며 “이번 조례 개정안은 공공미술이 방치되거나 흉물로 변하는 것을 막고, 시민들이 문화 향유권을 실질적으로 누릴 수 있도록 하려는 취지”라고 강조했다.
