이번 농정평가는 도내 22개 시·군의 농업정책, 농식품유통, 친환경농업, 축산정책, 농촌활력, 특수시책 등 다양한 농업 분야의 업무 활성화를 위해 실시됐다.

영주시는 미래지향적인 부자농촌 건설을 목표로 농정사업 전반에 걸쳐 적극적인 정책 추진으로 높은 평가를 받으며 최우수상을 차지했다.

시는 기후변화로 인한 농산물 가격 하락 등 어려운 환경 속에서도 영주농업의 경쟁력을 강화하기 위해 다양한 농정사업과 공모사업을 추진해 왔다. 특히 지역 우수 농특산물의 판로 확대를 위한 ‘농특산물대축제’ 신설 및 외국인 계절근로자 도입 등도 주목받았다.

박남서 영주시장은 “어려운 여건 속에서도 미래지향 부자농촌 건설을 위해 노력해주신 모든 분께 감사의 인사를 드리며, 이번 성과를 계기로 한단계 더 도약하는 영주농업이 되기를 바란다”고 말했다.
