【브레이크뉴스  영주】이성현 기자=  국내 최대 인삼 생산지인 영주에서 개최되는 ‘2024경북영주 풍기인삼축제’가 지난 5일 인삼문화팝업공원 주무대에서 개막식을 갖고 9일간의 일정에 돌입했다.

6일 영주시에 따르면 이날 개막식에는 풍기인삼을 구입하고 축제를 즐기기 위해 영주를 찾은 관광객과 지역 주민 등 1,500여 명이 참석해 축제의 막을 함께 열었다. 이어진 축하공연에는 박서진, 경서예지, 황민우·민호 형제, 영지 등 가수들이 출연해 흥을 돋우고 축제장을 찾은 관광객과 지역민이 어우러지는 자리가 펼쳐졌다.

앞서 이날오전 9시, 풍기읍 금계리 개삼터에서 고유제 행사를 진행해 최초로 산삼 종자를 심어 풍기인삼 재배에 성공한 주세붕 선생의 위업을 기리고 축제의 성공을 기원했다. 오후 2시부터는 주세붕 군수 행차 재연을 시작으로 풍년기원제, 인삼대제 등 특별행사가 이어졌다.

영주 풍기인삼축제는 매년 인삼채굴 시기에 맞춰 저렴한 가격으로 품질 좋은 풍기인삼을 만날 수 있는 기회를 제공하고 지역 특징을 살린 다양한 프로그램을 선보여 관광객들이 많이 찾고 있는 대한민국 대표 건강축제로 자리매김하고 있다.

이번 축제는 ‘천년건강 풍기인삼, 풍기에서 심 봤다!’를 주제로 오는 13일까지 풍기인삼의 주요 생산지인 풍기읍 남원천과 인삼문화 팝업공원 일원에서 펼쳐진다.

특히, 올해는 문화체육관광부 ‘명예문화관광축제’와 한국관광공사 ‘지역축제 수용 태세 개선 사업’에 선정되어 지난해보다 더욱 알차고 내실 있는 프로그램으로 진행된다.

축제장에서는 마당놀이 덴동어미전 등 지역의 역사와 문화를 스토리텔링한 공연과 함께 풍기인삼을 더 맛있고 친근하게 느낄 수 있도록 ▷인삼병주(酒) 만들기 ▷인삼깎기 경연대회 ▷황금인삼을 찾아라 ▷인삼인절미 떡메치기 등 다양한 체험행사가 매일 진행된다.

이와 함께 ▷환경노래자랑대회 ▷퓨전국악밴드 ▷주민자치동아리, 지역문화예술인 공연 ▷전국 파워풀 댄스페스티벌 ▷소백산 영주풍기인삼가요제까지 매일 다양한 문화공연 프로그램도 이어진다.

9일에는 ‘김민지 영양사의 원데이 쿠킹클래스’가 열려 풍기인삼 등을 활용해 새롭게 개발한 메뉴를 쿠킹클래스에서 시연해 건강하고 맛있는 요리를 함께 배워볼 수 있는 시간을 가진다.

축제 기간 풍기뿐만 아니라 영주 전역이 축제장으로 변신한다. 영주시장기 전국 족구‧축구대회, 영주풍기인삼배 테니스대회, 경북도지사기 마라톤대회, 소백힐링 걷기대회 등 다양한 연계 행사가 곳곳에서 펼쳐져 시 전체가 축제 분위기로 들썩일 예정이다.
