이 사업의 목적은 기업의 작업환경과 안전시설을 개선하여 산업재해를 예방하고, 중대재해처벌법 확대 시행에 대비해 기업의 경영 안정성을 강화하는 것이다.

모집 대상은 영주시에 사업장을 두고 있는 중소기업으로, 지원 분야는 △노후화된 전기설비 개·보수 △소방 장치 개·보수 △분진 및 유해물질 제거를 위한 배기·환기·집진 설비 공사 △안전 개선을 위한 작업장 내·외부 공사 △기업 근로환경 개선을 위한 내·외부 공사 등 5개 분야로 구성된다.

총 13개 기업을 선정하여, 선정된 기업은 최대 2000만 원까지 지원을 받을 수 있다.
