영주시에 따르면 이날 회의는 박남서 시장 주재로 진행됐으며, 정부 정책 방향과 시 주요 현안 사업을 연계한 신규 사업발굴과 전략적 대응 방안 마련에 중점을 뒀다.

이번 회의를 통해 도비 사업 포함 59개 사업, 1054억 원 규모의 국가예산 확보 대상 사업을 선정하고 정부 정책과의 적합도, 사업 타당성, 실현 가능성 등을 종합적으로 검토했다.

주요 신규사업으로는 △풍기읍 뉴빌리지 사업 50억 원 △영주호 수생태 국가정원 조성 30억 원 △통합바이오가스 생산시설 구축사업 27억 원 △탄소중립형 비목질계 셀룰로스 생태계 육성사업 20억 원 △풍기지구 노후하수관로 정비사업 15억 원 등 23개 사업 240억 원 규모이다.

계속사업으로는 △지역활력타운 조성사업 60억 원 △영주시 국가산업단지 물재이용 시설 설치사업 62억 원 △풍기정수장 개량사업 50억 원 △영주시 휴천2동 뉴빌리지 사업 38억원 △옥계 자연재해위험개선지구 정비사업 25억 원 △서천 수변문화관광자원 개발사업 23억 원 △상망동 도시재생 우리동네살리기 사업 18억 원 등 36개 사업 814억 원 규모로, 시는 안정적인 국도비 확보를 통해 사업 추진에 만전을 기할 방침이다.

박남서 영주시장은 “열악한 지방재정을 극복하고 지역 발전을 가속화하기 위해서는 국가예산 확보가 무엇보다 중요하다”며, “정부 공모사업에 적극 대응하고, 정부 정책과 시 현안사업을 연계한 신규사업을 철저히 발굴하여 좋은 성과를 거둘 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 강조했다.
