현장에 도착한 해경은 구명조끼를 착용하지 않은 채 갯바위 인근에 고립돼 있던 일행을 발견했다. 경찰관 2명과 행락객 B씨(40대, 남)가 직접 입수해 익수자 3명을 구조했으며, 해양재난구조대 소속 C씨의 보트를 이용해 호미곶항으로 안전하게 이송했다.

이 가운데 A씨(20대, 남)는 심한 탈진 증세로 119구급대에 의해 인근 병원으로 옮겨졌고, 나머지 2명은 건강에 이상이 없는 것으로 확인됐다.

이근안 포항해양경찰서장은 “물놀이 안전사고는 순간의 부주의에서 발생한다”며 “해상 활동 시 반드시 구명조끼를 착용하고 안전수칙을 준수해 달라”고 당부했다.

Pohang Coast Guard Rescue All 3 Stranded Swimmers Off Homigot
