행사에서는 상반기 구조 활동에 헌신한 대원들에게 감사장이 수여됐다. 김성진 구조부 대원이 청장 감사장을 받았으며, 김은희 봉사구조부 대원을 비롯한 2명에게는 서장 감사장이 전달됐다. 이들은 지역 해양 안전을 위해 기여한 공로를 인정받았다.

이근안 포항해양경찰서장은 “바다는 해양경찰 인력만으로 지키기에는 한계가 있다”며 “민·관이 힘을 모아야 하는 만큼 앞으로도 해양재난구조대와 긴밀히 협력해 국민이 안심할 수 있는 안전한 바다를 만들어가겠다”고 말했다.
