【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포스코 포항제철소(소장 이동렬)는 지난 20일 양덕 한마음체육관에서 열린 ‘둘이서 한마음 2탄! 장애인 체육선수들과 함께’ 봉사활동을 성료했다고 22일 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 포스코 1% 나눔 사업의 일환으로 마련됐으며, 포스코 임직원과 장애인 생활체육 선수들이 2인 1조를 이뤄 다양한 스포츠를 함께 즐기며 소통과 화합을 나누는 시간으로 진행됐다. 참여자들은 탁구, 배드민턴, 슐런, 한궁 등 여러 종목을 체험하며 장애인과 비장애인이 서로를 이해하고 공감하는 뜻깊은 자리를 만들었다.

포항제철소는 올해 장애인들의 실질적 자립을 위해 생활체육 선수 육성부터 취업 연계까지 다양한 지원을 이어오고 있다. 특히 이번 봉사활동은 임직원 기부자들이 단순한 기부를 넘어 직접 프로그램에 참여해 봉사의 의미를 체감할 수 있도록 한 점에서 큰 의미가 있다.

행사에 참여한 한 장애인 체육선수는 “평소 많은 힘이 되어주시는 포스코 임직원분들과 함께 즐거운 시간을 보낼 수 있어 행복했다”며 “이번 활동을 계기로 장애인 스포츠에 더 많은 관심이 이어지길 바란다”고 말했다.

윤동우 포항제철소 대외협력그룹장은 “장애인 체육선수들의 꿈을 응원하고 자립에 보탬이 되고자 이번 행사를 마련했다”며 “앞으로도 기부자들이 함께 참여할 수 있는 다양한 나눔 활동을 이어가겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편 포항제철소는 지난 6월 선풍기 나눔 활동을 진행했으며, 오는 11월에는 연탄 나눔 활동을 계획하는 등 지역사회와 함께하는 사회공헌활동을 지속적으로 펼쳐나갈 예정이다.

This event, part of POSCO's 1% Sharing Project, saw POSCO employees and disabled recreational athletes team up in pairs to enjoy various sports together, fostering communication and harmony. Participants experienced various sports, including table tennis, badminton, schulen, and Korean archery, creating a meaningful opportunity for people with and without disabilities to understand and empathize with each other.

This year, Pohang Works has been providing various support programs, from nurturing recreational athletes to providing employment opportunities, to foster the self-reliance of people with disabilities. This volunteer activity is particularly significant because it allowed employee donors to go beyond simple donations and directly participate in the program, experiencing the true meaning of volunteering.

A disabled athlete who participated in the event said, "I was happy to have a great time with POSCO employees who have always been so supportive. I hope this event will spark greater interest in disabled sports."

Yoon Dong-woo, Head of External Cooperation Group at Pohang Works, stated, "We organized this event to support the dreams of disabled athletes and help them achieve independence. We will continue to hold various sharing activities in which donors can participate."

Meanwhile, Pohang Works plans to continue its social contribution activities with the local community, including donating fans in June and briquettes in November.
