【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항시는 ‘2026 원북 원포항 올해의 책’ 선정을 위해 이달 14일부터 3월 15일까지 한 달간 포항시립도서관 홈페이지를 통해 시민 온라인 투표를 진행한다고 밝혔다.

이번 투표는 시민 추천 도서 110권 가운데 1차 원북 선정위원회 심의를 거쳐 압축된 3개 부문 15권을 대상으로 실시된다. 부문별 후보는 어린이·청소년·일반 분야 각 5권씩이다.

어린이 부문에는 ▲4×4의 세계(조우리 글, 노인경 그림) ▲거짓말주의보(이경아 글, 김연제 그림) ▲너와 나의 퍼즐(김규아) ▲숲속 가든(한윤섭 글, 김동성 그림) ▲현진에게(이수진 글, 양양 그림)가 선정됐다.

청소년 부문 후보는 ▲나나 올리브에게(루리) ▲너에게 들려주는 단단한 말(김종원) ▲스파클(최현진) ▲일억 번째 여름(청예) ▲파도의 아이들(정수윤)이다.

일반 부문에는 ▲과학산문(김상욱·심채경) ▲나는 용서도 없이 살았다(이상국) ▲노 피플 존(정이현) ▲안녕이라 그랬어(김애란) ▲죽은 다음(희정)이 이름을 올렸다.

시는 시민 투표 결과를 반영해 3월 18일 열리는 2차 원북 선정위원회에서 최종 ‘올해의 책’을 확정할 계획이다. 선정 기준은 최근 2년 이내 발간 도서 가운데 독서문화 프로그램 운영에 적합하고 전 세대가 함께 읽고 공감할 수 있는 작품이다.

서양진 포항시립도서관장은 “원북 원포항 사업은 시민이 한 권의 책을 함께 읽으며 공감대를 형성하고 화합하는 데 목적이 있다”며 “많은 시민이 투표에 참여해 모두가 소통할 수 있는 책이 선정되길 바란다”고 말했다.

Pohang City Holds Online Citizen Voting for the "2026 Wonbuk Wonpohang Book of the Year"

Pohang City announced that it will hold an online citizen vote on the Pohang City Library website from March 14th to March 15th to select the "2026 Wonbuk Wonpohang Book of the Year."

The voting will focus on 15 books in three categories, narrowed down from 110 recommended books by citizens through the first round of review by the Wonbuk Selection Committee. Each category will feature five books each: Children's, Young Adult, and General.

The nominees for the General category are ▲Science Prose (Kim Sang-wook and Shim Chae-kyung), ▲I Lived Without Forgiveness (Lee Sang-guk), ▲No People Zone (Jeong Yi-hyeon), ▲I Said Goodbye (Kim Ae-ran), and ▲After Death (Hee-jung).

The city plans to finalize the "Book of the Year" at the second meeting of the One Book Selection Committee on March 18th, reflecting the results of the citizen vote. The selection criteria are books published within the past two years that are suitable for reading culture programs and can be read and resonated with by all generations.

Seo Yang-jin, director of Pohang City Library, said, “The One Book One Pohang project aims to foster a sense of community and unity among citizens by reading a book together,” adding, “I hope that many citizens will participate in the voting so that a book that everyone can connect with can be selected.”
