【브레이크뉴스 대구경북】이성현 기자=대구시와 경상북도, 그리고 국민의 힘 간의 예산정책협의회가 2일 오전 대구시청에서 열렸다.

주호영 원내대표는 권영진, 이철우 두 시도지사는 물론 대구시와 경북도민에게 일정 및 장보 섭외 등과 관련해 그동안 한 두 차례 변경이 있었던 것에 대하여 양해부터 구했다.

주호영 원내대표는 “대구와 경북은 위기 때마다 대한민국을 지켜왔고, 지금의 한반도를 형성하고 유지해 온 자부심의 고장”이라고 말했다. 이어 “TK는 국민의 힘의 지지기반이자 본산으로 우리 정당을 지켜주심에 감사 드린다”고 덧붙였다.

주 원내대표는 “오늘 자리를 통해 내년도 예산에 반영되지 않은 부분과 대폭적인 증액이 필요한 부분을 챙겨보자”고 말했다. 특히, 경북에 대해서는 “신공항과 철도 등 교통인프라와  포스텍 의과대학 등 의료분야에 많은 노력을 하고 있음을 잘 알고 있다”며 “다만 SOC외의 컨텐츠와 알맹이 사업 등 성장 동력에 대한 예산을 반영했으면 좋겠는데, 아직도 SOC 분야를 더 해야 하는 것은 아쉽다”고 말했다.

이에 대해 이철우 경북도지사는 “지역 현안을 모두 잘 알고 계고 잘 도와주심에 감사드린다”며 “SOC사업은 이미 다른 지방의 경우, 완료된 사업인데 경북은 아직도 진행 중이다. 안타깝다”면서도 “ SOC예산 말고도 다른 분야도 많이 준비했다. 부탁드린다. 경북은 인구와 GDP, 예산에서 갈수록 위축되고 있다. 금년에도 선방은 했지만, 아직도 배고프다”고 적극적인 협조를 당부했다.

이날 함께 참석한 이종배 정책위의장과 추경호 예결위 간사, 곽상도, 이만희 시도당위원장 등은 한결같이 “대구시와 경북도의 국비예산이 대폭 증액될 수 있도록 함께 힘을 합쳐 적극적으로 대응해 나가겠다”고 힘을 보탰다.
