군위군이 대구시 편입을 앞두고 이에 대한 업무 진행을 위해 대구시교육청(교육감 강은희)은 ‘교육ㆍ학예 분야 편입추진단’을 구성한다고 밝혔다.
강병구 부교육감을 단장으로 하는 ‘교육ㆍ학예 분야 편입추진단’은 오는 12월부터 편입 업무를 진행해 나갈 예정으로 정책지원국장, 교육국장, 행정국장, 감사관 및 각 부서장 등 총 21명의 위원으로 구성된다.
이들은 군위군 소재 교육기관의 각종 현황 파악, 사무별 편입계획 수립 및 추진상황 점검 ‣ 시ㆍ도간 교육제도 및 학생지원방식 차이에 따른 조치방안 마련, 자치법규 제ㆍ개정 등을 총괄한다.
대구시로 편입되는 군위군 소재 교육기관은 군위교육지원청과 삼국유사군위도서관, 초등학교 7교(병설유치원 6원 포함), 중학교 4교, 고등학교 2교 등으로 학생 수는 총 1,058명이며 대부분 소규모 학교 형태로 운영되고 있다.
