9일 경북교육청(교육감 임종식)이 주관한 전국시도교육감협의회 총회가 더케이호텔 경주에서 제8대 협의회를 마무리하고 지난 2년간의 협의회 운영 결과와 발전 방안에 대해 논의하는 총회가 진행되었다.
이날 총회에서는 그동안 협의회 사무국에서 추진한‘국가사무-자치사무 법률 개정 TF 운영 결과’와‘학교자율성 신장 방안 마련 TF 운영 결과’를 발표했다.
아울러 총회 다음날인 10일에는 전국 최초로 건립된‘경상북도교육청 발명체험교육관’을 방문할 예정이다.
발명체험교육관은 다양한 교육수요자에게 특화된 발명전시 및 체험활동 공간을 제공해 발명적 사고 확산에 기여하고 있으며, 4차 산업혁명에 필요한 핵심인재를 육성하는 발명전문 교육기관으로 최근 경주의 새로운 랜드마크로 급부상해 많은 관람객이 찾고 있다.
임종식 교육감은 “제8대 협의회 마지막 총회를 경북에서 개최하게 된 것을 뜻깊게 생각하며, 앞으로 협의회가 교육현장에 산적해 있는 교육결손 회복, 교육격차 해소, 대입제도 개편, 학령인구 감소, 기후위기 대응 등의 문제에 지혜와 역량을 모아 슬기롭게 해결할 수 있는 초석이 되길 기대한다”고 밝혔다.
