【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=계명대 간호대학 목회간호위원회가 외국인 유학생을 대상으로 의료봉사활동을 펼쳤다고 6일 밝혔다.

계명대에 따르면  간호대학 목회간호위원회 소속 간호학과 교수들과 학생 40여 명은 오후 1시부터 5시까지, 계명대 성서캠퍼스 바우어관 일대에서 ‘Health Fair ’행사를 개최했다.

‘Health Fair ’는 코로나19 이후 3년 만에 열린 행사로 외국인 유학생을 대상으로 혈액검사와 각종 신체검사가 진행되었다.

이를 통해 혈당, 콜레스테롤, 요산, 혈색소 등을 체크와 소변검사와 활력징후 등의 검진 결과에 따른 건강교육 및 상담이 진행되기도 했다.

아울러 건강부스에서는 건강 자가관리와 흡연 및 음주의 폐해, 감영예방관리 등의 교육이 이뤄졌고 행사에는 각국 유학생 200여 명이 몰리며 호응을 얻었다.

이날 응웬 티느응옥(여, 베트남, 21세) 학생은 “한국에 유학 온 지 4년이 되었는데 외국인 의료보험은 적용되지만 의사소통 등 여러 가지 문제로 병원을 찾는 것이 어렵다.”면서 “이번 행사를 통해 전체적인 건강을 체크 할 수 있어서 안심이 되고 세심한 부분까지 신경 써 준 학교와 간호학과 교수와 학우들에게 감사하다.”고 말했다. 

김가은 계명대 간호학과 교수(목회간호위원회 위원장)는“외국인 유학생들은 타국 생활로 인해 건강관리에 각별히 신경을 써야한다. 특히 상대적으로 국내 의료시설을 사용하는 것이 어려울 수 있기 때문에 수시로 확인하는 것이 중요하다.”고 설명하면서 “다소 완화되긴 했지만, 몇 해 동안 이어지고 있는 코로나19 상황 속에서 유학생들의 안전을 보다 체계적으로 관리할 수 있고 간호학과 재학생들에게는 임상실무에 대한 경험을 쌓을 수 있는 좋은 계기가 되었다.”고 말했다.
