【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=선린대학교(총장 곽진환) 응급구조과가 지난 27일 경북소방학교에서 진행된 견학 및 체험 프로그램에 참여했다. 이 프로그램에는 1‧2학년 재학생 40여 명이 참여해 소방교육 현장을 직접 둘러보고 학습했다.

경북소방학교는 신규 소방공무원이 현장 배치를 앞두고 24주간 전문 훈련을 받는 기관으로, 학생들은 화재 진압시설, 구조·전술 훈련장, 구급교육장 등 다양한 실습교육 시설을 둘러봤다. 또한 현장에서 근무 중인 선린대학교 응급구조과 졸업생 선배들과 만나 소방 입직 전략과 실제 현장 경험을 듣는 시간도 마련됐다.

응급구조과 2학년 윤태빈 학생은 “소방학교는 응급구조사에게 밀접한 현장 교육 공간이라 의미가 컸다”며 “구급교육장과 구조시설을 직접 보며 앞으로 어떤 전문가가 되어야 할지 목표를 다시 세우는 계기가 됐다”고 소감을 밝혔다.

현진숙 학과장(전국응급구조(학)과 교수협의회장)은 “학생들이 교실에서 배운 이론을 실제 현장 시스템과 연결해 보는 유익한 시간이었다”며 “앞으로도 소방, 의료, 해양경찰 등 지역 유관기관과 협력해 실무 중심의 현장교육을 확대할 계획”이라고 말했다.

한편, 선린대학교 응급구조과는 1995년 처음 개설돼 올해 개설 30주년을 맞았으며, 높은 국가시험 합격률과 취업률을 바탕으로 지역과 전국의 응급의료 전문인력 양성에 기여하고 있다.

Sunlin University's (President Kwak Jin-hwan) Emergency Rescue Department participated in a field trip and hands-on experience program held at the Gyeongbuk Fire Academy on the 27th. Approximately 40 first- and second-year students participated in the program, which allowed them to tour and learn firsthand about firefighting training facilities.

The Gyeongbuk Fire Academy is an institution where new firefighters receive 24 weeks of specialized training prior to field deployment. Students toured various practical training facilities, including fire suppression facilities, rescue and tactical training centers, and emergency medical training centers. They also had the opportunity to meet with Sunlin University Emergency Rescue Department graduates currently working in the field and learn about firefighting career strategies and practical field experiences.

Yoon Tae-bin, a second-year student in the Emergency Rescue Department, said, "The Fire Academy is a very meaningful place for emergency medical technicians because it provides hands-on training. Seeing the emergency medical training center and rescue facilities firsthand gave me the opportunity to reassess my goals for the future."

Department Head Hyun Jin-sook (President of the National Emergency Medical Services Faculty Council) said, "It was a valuable opportunity for students to connect the theories they learned in the classroom with real-world systems." She added, "We plan to continue expanding our practical, on-site training in collaboration with local organizations such as the fire department, medical department, and the Coast Guard."

Meanwhile, Sunlin University's Department of Emergency Medical Services, established in 1995, celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. With a high national exam pass rate and employment rate, the department is contributing to the development of emergency medical professionals both locally and nationally.
