【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=선린대학교(총장 곽진환)는 2월 4일 오후 5시 믿음관 203호 강의실에서 ‘2025년 전문대학 혁신지원사업’의 일환으로 추진한 ‘산불감시원 산불감시 드론 활용 연수 4기’ 수료식을 개최했다.

이번 연수 과정은 선린대학교와 포항시가 산불 대응 협력 강화를 위해 체결한 업무협약(MOU)에 따라 마련됐으며, 산불 예방과 초기 대응 역량 강화를 목표로 진행됐다. 교육은 드론의 기본 비행 원리부터 산불 감시에 특화된 촬영 기법, 현장 중심의 실무 교육까지 체계적으로 구성됐다.

전경국 선린대학교 평생교육원장은 “짧은 기간의 집중 교육을 통해 수료생들이 드론 활용 역량을 높이고 한층 친숙해지는 계기가 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 배움의 열정을 이어가 산불 예방과 지역 안전 확보에 기여해 주길 기대한다”고 말했다.

교육을 맡은 김철진 ㈜경북무인항공 대표는 “프로그램을 성공적으로 마무리하게 돼 매우 뜻깊다”며 “수료생들이 드론을 지속적으로 활용하며 새로운 도전에 적극 나서길 바란다”고 전했다.

선린대학교는 지난해에 이어 올해도 드론 활용 연수를 지속적으로 운영하고 있으며, 이번 4기 과정을 성공적으로 마무리했다. 오는 5기 과정에는 10여 명의 산불감시원과 산불진화대원이 참여할 예정이다. 대학 측은 앞으로도 산불 대응 역량 강화를 위한 지속 가능한 인재 양성 체계를 구축하고, 이를 지역사회 전반으로 확대해 나갈 계획이다.

Sunlin University Holds Graduation Ceremony for the 4th Drone Utilization Training Program for Forest Fire Watchers

Sunlin University (President Kwak Jin-hwan) held a graduation ceremony for the 4th Forest Fire Watcher Drone Utilization Training Program, implemented as part of the "2025 College Innovation Support Project," at 5:00 PM on February 4th in Lecture Room 203 of the Faith Building.

This training program was designed in accordance with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between Sunlin University and Pohang City to strengthen cooperation in forest fire response. The goal was to strengthen forest fire prevention and early response capabilities. The training was structured to cover everything from basic drone flight principles to specialized forest fire surveillance photography techniques and hands-on, field-oriented training.

Jeon Gyeong-guk, Director of Sunlin University's Lifelong Education Center, stated, "I hope this short, intensive training program will provide the graduates with an opportunity to enhance their drone capabilities and become more familiar with them. I hope they will continue their passion for learning and contribute to forest fire prevention and community safety."

Kim Cheol-jin, CEO of Gyeongbuk Drones, who oversaw the training, said, "It's truly meaningful to have successfully completed the program. I hope the graduates will continue to utilize drones and actively pursue new challenges."

Seonlin University continues to offer drone training this year, following last year, and has successfully completed its fourth session. Approximately 10 forest fire watchers and forest firefighters are scheduled to participate in the fifth session. The university plans to establish a sustainable talent development system to strengthen forest fire response capabilities and expand this program throughout the community.
