【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=선린대학교(총장 곽진환) 응급구조과는 3일 경북119특수구조대를 방문해 2학년 재학생을 대상으로 실전 중심 견학 프로그램을 실시했다.

이번 견학은 특수구조대의 고난도 재난 대응 과정을 직접 경험함으로써 학생들의 실무 이해도를 높이고, 전문 1급 응급구조사로 성장하기 위한 진로 탐색 기회를 제공하고자 마련됐다.

이날 학생들은 경북119특수구조대의 주요 임무 설명을 시작으로 ▲특수구조 드론 운용 체계 ▲화학·생물 사고 대응용 방호복 착용 체험 ▲119군견대의 정밀 수색 체계 ▲119항공구조단의 헬기 후송 절차 등을 현장에서 직접 확인했다.

특히 항공구조단의 응급환자 헬기 이송 과정과 현장 구급 체계는 학생들에게 실제 재난 대응 현장의 움직임과 응급처치 절차를 직관적으로 이해하는 계기가 됐다.

견학에 참여한 조영태 학회장(응급구조과 2학년)은 “특수구조대에서 근무 중인 선배를 만나 조언을 들을 수 있어 큰 힘이 됐다”며 “이번 경험이 향후 진로 선택에 중요한 동기부여가 됐다”고 말했다.

현진숙 학과장(전국응급구조(학)과교수협의회장)은 “학생들이 실제 재난 환경을 직접 보고 느낀 뜻깊은 현장학습이었다”며 “앞으로도 소방, 해경, 응급의료기관과의 협력을 더욱 강화해 실전형 교육을 확대하겠다”고 밝혔다.

1995년 전국 최초로 개설된 선린대학교 응급구조과는 지역 특화 실습 프로그램과 외상·재난 전문 교육, 소방·해경 등 유관 기관 연계를 통해 실전형 응급의료 인재를 양성하며 지역 안전망 강화에 기여하고 있다.

The students began by learning about the team's key missions. They then witnessed firsthand the operation of special rescue drones, the experience of wearing protective clothing for chemical and biological incidents, the precision search system of the 119 Military Dog Unit, and the helicopter evacuation procedures of the 119 Air Rescue Team.

In particular, the Air Rescue Team's helicopter transport of emergency patients and on-site emergency services provided students with an intuitive understanding of the operations and first aid procedures at real-world disaster response sites.

Cho Young-tae, a sophomore in the Department of Emergency Medical Services who participated in the field trip, said, "Meeting and receiving advice from seniors working in the special rescue team was a huge help. This experience significantly motivated me in choosing my future career path."

Hyun Jin-sook, Dean of the Department (President of the National Emergency Medical Services Faculty Association), stated, "This was a meaningful field trip where students were able to directly observe and experience a real-life disaster environment." She added, "We will continue to strengthen collaboration with the fire department, coast guard, and emergency medical institutions to expand practical training."

Established in 1995 as the first department in Korea, Sunlin University's Department of Emergency Medical Services cultivates practical emergency medical professionals through regionally specialized training programs, specialized trauma and disaster education, and collaborations with related organizations such as the fire department and coast guard.
