지원 요건은 부부 중 1명 이상이 혼인신고일을 포함해 신청일까지 계속해서 6개월 이상 경상북도에 주민등록을 두고 거주해야 하며, 신청일 기준 신청자 본인은 예천군에, 배우자는 경북 내에 주소를 두고 있어야 한다. 신청은 혼인신고일로부터 1년 이내에 주민등록상 주소지 읍·면 행정복지센터에서 가능하다.

예천군은 이번 사업을 통해 결혼 초기 경제적 부담을 실질적으로 덜어주고, 청년층의 지역 이탈을 줄이는 데 기여할 것으로 기대하고 있다.
