군은 2025년 초 ‘도민체전 TF팀’을 신설해 체계적인 준비에 착수했으며, 스포츠 중심도시로서의 위상을 공고히 하기 위한 전반적인 대회 준비에 만전을 기하고 있다.

오는 4월 3일부터 6일까지 4일간 열리는 제64회 경북도민체육대회는 예천군과 안동시가 공동으로 개최해 시·군 간 화합을 도모한다는 점에서 의미를 더한다. 이번 대회에는 도내 22개 시·군에서 30개 종목(시부 30, 군부 16)에 1만 2천여 명의 선수단이 참가하며, 관람객을 포함하면 최대 약 3만 명이 방문할 것으로 예상된다. 대회는 경상북도와 경상북도체육회가 주최하고, 안동시·예천군 및 양 시·군 체육회가 공동 주관한다.

예천군은 지난해부터 단계별 준비를 이어왔다. 2025년 4월 기본계획 전달 회의를 시작으로 추진반별 세부 보고회와 관계기관 협의를 통해 준비 상황을 점검했으며, 지난해 12월에는 ‘D-100일 부서별 보고회’를 열어 전반적인 추진 현황을 점검했다.
