이번 승인으로 예천군은 2024년에 승인된 2,408세대 규모의 공동주택 사업에 이어, 2년 연속 대규모 공동주택 건설 사업계획을 확정하게 됐다. 해당 사업은 최고 32층, 10개 동, 총 1,150세대 규모로 추진된다.

사업 대상지는 서측으로 국도 85호선이 인접해 있으며, 북측에는 수변공원, 동측에는 패밀리파크가 조성돼 있다. 남측에는 중앙녹지공원과 함께 초등학교와 고등학교가 들어설 예정으로, 우수한 주거환경과 생활 인프라를 갖춘 입지로 평가받고 있다.

이번 사업 승인에 따라 경북도청신도시 2단계에는 총 3,558세대의 신규 공동주택 공급 기반이 마련되면서, 신도시 주거 수요 해소와 정주 여건 개선에 크게 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

예천군 관계자는 “경북도청신도시 조성은 군의 핵심 현안인 만큼 주거 공급 확대는 가장 중요한 과제 중 하나”라며 “후속 행정 절차를 신속히 진행해 사업이 조기에 착공될 수 있도록 행정 지원에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
