계명대는 코로나19 상황이 장기화됨에 따라 계명대 성서캠퍼스 아담스채플에서 참석자를 최소화한 가운데 입학식을 간소하게 진행하고 이를 사전 녹화해 26일 온라인으로 일반 학생들에게 공개한다.
이날 입학식에는 국제관계학과 정가연, 의예과 손혁진 학생 신입생 대표의 신입생 선서에 이어 비사우수 장학생인 조유진(언론영상학전공) 학생과 외국인 정의 장학생인 파이줄라에브 파크리든(경영학전공) 학생 장학증서 수여식이 이어졌다.
신일희 총장은 환영사를 통해 “대학생은 홀로서기를 시작하는 인간개체이다. 대학시절은 지성인으로 성장하는 첫 단계다. 사회구성원으로 혼자 생각하고, 판단하고, 행동하는 법도와 방법을 배워 나가야 할 것이다.”며, “이 세상에 하나밖에 없는 고귀한 인간, 없어서는 안 될 존재로 성장해 주길 바란다.”고 말했다.
한편 계명대는 2021학년 대면 강의와 비대면 강의를 병행해 수업을 진행한다. 대면 강의는 강의실 수용인원 50% 미만으로 수강인원을 한정하였으며 지난해 코로나19 상황 속에서 운영해 온 방역과 학사운영 노하우를 바탕으로 안전하고 내실 있는 수업을 운영한다는 계획이다.
이성용 계명대 학생처장은 “처음 시작하는 ‘자기주도인재장학제도’는 학생 스스로 목표를 설정하고, 스스로 역량을 키워나가는 것을 지원하기 위한 장학제도이다.”며, “교수들은 제자들의 목표달성을 위한 조력자 역할로 학생들과 보다 많은 소통의 장이 되어 새로운 대학문화로 정착될 수 있길 바란다.”고 말했다.
