【브레이크뉴스 대회】진예솔 기자=대구대학교(총장 박순진) 씨름부가 ‘제59회 대통령기전국장사씨름대회’에서 우수한 성적을 거두며 전국 대학 씨름부 강호로 부상했다.

대구대는 지난 21일부터 22일까지 경북 문경시 문경실내체육관에서 열린 대회의 대학부 단체전에서 시즌 첫 우승을 차지했다.

12명의 선수가 출전한 단체전 뿐만 아니라 대학부 개인전에서도 경장급에 출전한 가수호(스포츠레저학과 1) 선수와 역사급에 출전한 박준성(체육학과 3) 선수가 각각 금메달을 차지했으며, 특히 박준성 선수는 이번 대회를 포함해 올 시즌 3관왕에 올랐다. 또한, 표진수(체육학과 3) 선수는 용장급에서 3위에 올랐다. 

박준성 선수는 “이번 우승으로 시즌 3관왕을 달성했다”면서 “현재에 만족하지 않고 앞으로 남은 대회에서 모두 우승할 수 있도록 준비하겠다.”고 당찬 포부를 밝혔다.

최병찬 대구대 씨름부 감독은 “3년 만의 단체전 우승이라 말로 표현할 수 없을 정도로 기쁘고, 이번 우승은 시즌 후반에도 좋은 결과를 위한 동기부여가 될 것으로 생각한다.”면서 “불평 한번 없이 열심히 훈련해준 선수들과 뒤에서 열심히 응원해주신 부모님들께 감사드린다.”고 말했다.
