이에 이인선 의원은 자신이 대표발의한 ‘무상양여 근거법을 해법으로 제시하면서 “무상양여할 수 있는 근거를 마련해주고, 동시에 재정당국이 농업기반시설 유지관리 예산을 현실화해 농어촌공사가 본연의 업무에 집중하도록 환경을 조성해야 한다.”고 주장했다.
이 의원은“수성못은 대구시민의 소중한 관광명소이자 공공재로 다른 지역의 농업기반시설들하고는 그 성격이 다르다.”고 강조하며, “대통령도 내수활성화를 위한 관광산업 지원을 강조하고 있는 만큼 수성못이 세계적인 명소로 발전할 수 있도록 도와달라.”고 말했다.
이에 정황근 농림축산식품부장관은 “(이 의원)법안에 대한 검토를 충실하게 하겠다.”고 답변했다.
