31일 이승천 예비후보는 “그동안 지역을 위해 헌신해왔다”며 “이제 주민들의 선택을 받아 국회에서 봉사하겠다”는 포부를 밝혔다.

그는 “보수정당 일색인 대구는 바뀐 것이 없다”며 “우리 지역이 바뀔 기회는 이번 총선이다”라고 설명했다.

그러면서 “이번 총선은 민주당에 있어서도 매우 중요한 선거”라며 “차기 대선에서 승리하기 위해 이번 총선에서 대구지역 출마자들과 중앙당이 혼연일체가 되어야 한다”고 강조했다.

이 예비후보는 “나 자신도 정치 마지막이라는 생각으로 당에 도움이 되도록 최선을 다할 것”이라며 “마찬가지로 중앙당 역시 이번 선거에서 적극적인 지원과 관심이 있어야 한다”고 주장했다.
