윤석준 동구청장은 영진고, 대구대 법학과를 졸업하고, 경북대 행정대학원에 재학중이다.
제6~7대 대구광역시 시의원으로 제6대 후반기 교육위원장, 제7대 전반기 교육위원장을 역임했으며 2011년 세계육상선수권대회 지원 특별위원회 부위원장을 지냈다.
윤석준 동구청장은 이날 오전, 국립 신암선열공원과 충혼탑 참배를 시작으로 취임 첫날 일정을 시작했다.
윤 구청장은 취임사에서 “구민의 삶의 질을 확실하게 바꾸어야하는 무한한 책임감을 느낀다"며 “동구를 살기 좋은 동구, 아이 키우기 좋은 동구, 소외된 이웃이 없는 구민 한 사람 한 사람 모두가 따뜻한 공동체 동구를 만들겠다”고 강조했다.
