【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 북구 떡볶이 페스티벌이 세계축제협회(IFEA)가 주최한 '제18회 피너클어워드 한국대회'에서 3관왕을 차지했다고 21일 밝혔다.

피너클어워드는 세계 축제의 우수성과 창의성을 발굴하는 시상식으로, 축제 올림픽이라고도 불린다.

시상식에서 배광식 북구청장은 한국 음식문화를 세계에 알린 공로를 인정받아 'K-푸드 한류리더상'을 받았다.

북구는 음식＆음료 프로그램 부문에서 금상을 수상했다. 국내외 관람객으로부터 떡볶이 페스티벌의 음식 문화가 높은 호응을 얻은 결과다.

또 머천다이즈 부문 동상까지 수상해 지역 관광 상품의 독창성을 인정받았다.

떡볶이 페스티벌은 2022년 코로나 시기 온라인으로 시작했다. 지난해에는 동상을 받았다.

배광식 북구청장은 "떡볶이 페스티벌이 개최 3회 만에 이렇게 큰 상을 받아서 매우 감사하다"며 "북구를 K-푸드와 한류 관광의 중심지로 만들어 전 세계에 명성을 떨치겠다"고 했다.

The Daegu Buk-gu Tteokbokki Festival announced on the 21st that it won three awards at the '18th Pinnacle Awards Korea' hosted by the International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA).

The Tteokbokki Festival started online in 2022 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, it received a bronze award.

Buk-gu District Mayor Bae Gwang-sik said, “I am very grateful that the Tteokbokki Festival has received such a big award in just its third year of being held,” and added, “We will make Buk-gu a center for K-food and Hallyu tourism and make it famous around the world.”
