안동신바람광장 조성사업은 기존 탈춤공원 앞 강변도로 일부 구간을 지하화하고, 그 위로 문화·예술이 어우러진 시민문화공간으로 구축하는 권 예비후보의 관광분야 혁신공약 중 하나이다.

권 예비후보는 “강변도로 300m구간을 지하4차선 도로로 개통하고, 지하차도 상부를 공원으로 조성해 기존 탈춤축제장을 능가하는 20만㎡ 부지를 새롭게 확보하게 된다.”고 밝혔다.

지하차도 상부에 조성된 안동신바람광장에는 로컬푸드 판매, 문화·예술공연, 야외 미디어파사드, 버스킹, 푸드트럭 등 차별화된 계절별 문화관광 프로그램을 연중 상시 운영한다는 계획이다.

권 예비후보는 “6차선 찻길로 나눠져 있던 낙동강변과 축제장을 일원화해 수변공간을 보다 입체적으로 활용할 수 있는 획기적인 방안”이라며 “낙동강변과 연계한 장소성 콘텐츠를 최대로 활용해 지역경제 활성화로 이어질 수 있는 혁신적인 관광분야 공약을 추가로 발표할 계획”이라 밝혔다.
