권영길 예비후보가 “30만도시 명품 안동건설을 목표로 안동의 경제를 살리겠다”며 제8회 전국동시지방선거에서 안동시장 출마 도전을 공식 선언했다.

23일 오전 11시 안동시청 프레스룸에서 기자회견을 개최한 권영길 예비후보는 안동시장 출마를 공식 선언하고 본격적인 선거운동에 나선다고 밝혔다.

권 예비후보는 지난 대선에서 갈등과 반목을 넘어 안동시민의 위대한 선택에 감사 인사를 전하면서 지역 과제인 지역통합에 선봉장에 설 것을 약속하고 동행을 호소했다.

그는 출마의 변을 통해 안동의 실정인 인구감소와 고령화, 지역 불균형을 언급하면서 “경제를 풍요롭게 만들고 사람이 넘치는 안동을 만들겠다”는 포부를 전했다. 

그러면서 권 예비후보는 “어르신들을 맞춤 복지로 섬기고, 청년들에게 든든한 성공신화 버팀목으로 기회를 충분히 보장하고 부부가 아이 낳고 육아와 교육하기 좋은 도시로 만들어 가겠다.”고 설명했다.

그러면서 권 예비후보는 준비된 8대 비전으로 ▲농·생명 바이오산업 중점도시 안동, ▲청년 취·창업 창조·육성도시 안동, ▲생태관광/문화·관광산업 거점도시 안동, ▲전통과 현대예술의 공존도시 안동, ▲평생복지 실현 명품도시 안동, ▲중·소상공인 지원 육성도시 안동, ▲미래실용 교육도시 안동, ▲자연·자원 활용 레포츠 육성도시 안동 등을 제시했다. 

또한, 8대 비전을 완성하기 위해 51개 세부과제를 녹여내어 각 사업의 실행으로 신성장 도약을 밝히기도 했다.
