그러면서 "도의회에서도 그동안 여러 차례 연구원 분리를 요구해왔다. 그렇지만 지난해에는 대구경북 행정통합을 추진하는 마당에 분리에 대한 부담이 있었던 게 사실이다 그러나 행정통합이 이제 중앙정부의 역할이 된 상화에서 연구원 분리의 필요성을 다시 검토해야 할 시점“이라고 말하며 ”조만간 결론이 날 것”이라고 밝혔다
