‘여성친화도시’란 지역정책과정에 여성과 남성이 평등하게 참여하고 여성의 역량 강화, 돌봄 및 안전이 구현되도록 정책을 추진하고 있는 지역을 말한다. 

매년 여성가족부의 여성친화도시 지정계획에 따라 시·군·구에서 제출한 여성친화도시 조성 5대 목표별 성과 및 사업계획을 바탕으로 여성가족부가 심의·지정한다. 

수성구는 지난 2017년 실시한 ‘더행(더불어 행복한)마을 조성 사업’을 확장해 돌봄 문화 확산사례로 발전 가능성이 높다고 인정받으며 수성구가 여성친화도시로 연속지정될 수 있었던 주된 요소로 작용했다. 

또 성평등 스토리텔러 양성과정 운영, 행복수성 여성친화 아카데미, 여성친화 일거리‘원스톱(one-stop) 이음 등 여성친화도시 사업 전반을 원활하게 추진하며 함께 행복한 여성친화도시를 조성한 점 등도 높게 평가됐다.

김대권 수성구청장은 “앞으로도 아동, 청소년, 장애인, 노인 등 사회적 약자를 배려하는 여성친화도시 수성구를 만드는 데 더욱 앞장서겠다.”고 밝혔다.
