15일 오전 11시 더불어민주당 대구시당 김대중홀에서 대구와 광주가 총선 공통공약을 함께 발표하기 위한 기자회견이 개최되었다.

행사에는 민주당 광주시당위원장인 이병훈 국회의원(광주 동남구을) 및 광주시의회 이귀순 부의장, 임미란, 채은지 광주시의원, 임성화 교육연수위원장, 나선길 대학생위원장, 조병남 사무처장 등이 참석했다. 이와 함께 대구에서는 강민구 대구시당위원장을 비롯한 총선출마예정자들이 참석했다.

이날 민주당 대구-광주시당은 6가지 총선 공통공약을 내놓았다. 국회의원 261명이 발의한 ‘달빛철도 건설을 위한 특별법안’을 총선 전 국회 통과시킬 것과 아시안게임 공동유치 국회결의안, 노동절의 공휴일 지정, 로봇‧반도체 경제공동체, 아시안게임 E-스포츠 WAR GAME장 설치 및 협력 운영, 광주 5‧18과 대구 2‧28 행사 정치인 교류 등의 공동추진을 약속했다.

이병훈 광주시당위원장은 특히 달빛철도와 관련해 “예산이 많이 든다고 BC분석(비용편익분석)을 가지고 얘기하는데 수요가 공급을 창출하는 것도 있지만 공급이 수요를 창출한다는 ‘세의 법칙’이 있다”며 “사실 88고속도로를 2차선이 아니라 4차선으로 건설한 것도 지역균형발전과 동서화합을 위해서 한 것 아닌가? 이런 논리가 우리에게 필요하다”고 강조했다.

강민구 대구시당위원장 또한 “달빛철도는 군가균형발전 차원에서 예타면제를 강력하게 추진해야된다”면서 “또한 10개역이 건설되는데 역사가 설치되는 지자체들이 각각의 비전을 제시하고 기재부를 설득하는 노력도 병행되어야 한다”고 덧붙여 말했다.
