【브레이크뉴스 대구】박은정 기자= 대구 달서구(구청장 이태훈)는 3년만에 '제23회 영호남 장애인 친선교류대회'를 개최했다고 27일 밝혔다.

영호남 장애인 친선교류대회는 지난 1997년부터 대구 달서구와 광주 북구가 양 지역을 서로 오가며 개최해 올해로 23회를 맞았다. 

이번 행사는 개회식을 시작으로 장애인예술단의 무용 퍼포먼스와 화합을 이미지화한 샌드아트, 양지역 구화(區花)를 모티브로 한 문화행사와 문화탐방 등 다체로운 프로그램으로 진행했다.  

특히 행사장이 있는 송현1동은 영호남 교류의 시발점이 된 소중한 곳으로 도로명까지도 송현동에 있는 중흥로(광주 북구 지역명칭)와 광주에 있는 송현로(달서구 도로명)를 서로 명명해 지금까지 사용하는 등 그 인연은 아주 특별하다.

 이태훈 달서구청장은 "이번 행사를 통해 장애인과 비장애인의 사회통합은 물론 ,다시금 양 지역 간 화합과 우정을 확인하고, 더 나은 미래 성장 동반자로써 그 역할을 다짐하는 소중한 시간이었다"고 밝혔다.
