25일 홍준표 대구시장은 자신의 SNS를 통해 “역사적 인물을 평가할 때는 늘 공과가 있는 것인데 과만 들추어내어 반대하는 것은 유감”이라고 말했다.

그는 박 전 대통령 동상 건립에 대해 “우상화하는 것이 아니다”며 “대한민국 산업화의 출발인 대구에 그분의 산업화 정신을 기리자는 것”이라고 강조했다.

그러면서 “늘 반대만 일삼는 그들의 억지를 받아준다면 이것이야말로 대구 시민의 뜻에 역행하는 처사가 될 것”이라고 했다.
