취임식을 생략하고 현장방문으로 첫 일정을 잡은 것은 장기 침체로 인한 지역경제 어려움을 깊이 인식하고, 현안의 해답을 현장에서 찾아 적극적으로 풀어가겠다는 의지로 풀이된다.

첫 방문지로 김천 ㈜우진산전을 방문한 양 부지사는 김정현 대표이사 등 임직원들과 전기버스 생산 현장을 직접 둘러보고, 미래 모빌리티 산업이 나아가는 방향에 대한 정보 교환과 아이디어를 공유했다. ㈜우진산전 김천공장은 전기버스를 생산하는 경북도 내 최초의 완성차 생산 현장으로, 지난 3월 부지 77,166㎡, 건축 전체면적 23,167㎡ 국내 최대 규모의 공장을 준공해 연간 1,500대의 생산능력을 가졌으며, 국내 전기버스 분야에서 2위의 시장점유율을 보유하고 있는 것으로 알려졌다.
이어 방문한 ㈜신우피앤씨(칠곡 소재)에서는 김종호 대표이사 등 기업관계자들이 참석한 가운데 위생용품 생산‧제조 과정을 둘러보고 경영 애로 및 건의 사항등을 청취했다.㈜신우피앤씨는 2006년 설립 실버위생 용품을 전문적으로 생산하는 지역 유망기업으로 특허권 20여 건을 보유하고 있으며, 성인용 기저귀 부문에서 국내 2위 시장점유율을 차지하고 있다.

양금희 경제부지사는 기업과의 면담에서 “고금리, 원자재 가격 상승, 미․중 무역갈등과 같은 상황으로 어려움을 겪는 것으로 알고 있다”며 “이러한 위기 상황에 신속하게 대응하기 위해 여러분의 목소리를 직접 듣고 모니터링 해 체감하는 정책을 신속하게 추진해야 한다”고 말했다.이어“지역 기업이 글로벌 경쟁에서 살아남을 수 있도록 행․재정적 지원을 위한 모든 방안을 검토하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편, 양 부지사는 재임 기간 저출생 극복과 대구․경북 통합, 기업투자유치와 민생경제 안정 등 산적한 현안들을 풀어내야 하는 막중한 임무를 부여 받았다. 하나같이 쉽지 않은 일로 그는 “이같은 난제들을 해결하기 위해 국회에서의 경험을 포함한 모든 역량을 동원해 하나하나 세심히 챙기겠다”고 약속했다.
