【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=지난 4월 대구 북구 서변동에서 발생한 산불 진화 작업 중 헬기 추락으로 숨진 故 정궁호 기장(74세)이 공식적으로 순직 처리됐다.

대구 동구는 정 기장의 유족이 제출한 순직 인정 청구서를 공무원연금공단에 이송했고, 인사혁신처 산하 공무원재해보상심의위원회가 최근 이를 ‘위험직무순직’으로 최종 결정했다고 8일 밝혔다.

정 기장은 산불 당시 조종하던 헬기로 직접 진화작업에 나서던 중 추락 사고로 숨졌으며, 그의 희생은 대구 시민뿐 아니라 전국적으로도 큰 안타까움을 자아낸 바 있다.
