그는 또, “시군과 유기적인 협력을 통해 인명피해 우려 지역 중심의 주민 사전대피와 위험지역 사전 예찰, 위험시설 집중 점검 등 세심한 행정으로 재난 대응에 철저히 하자”고 거듭 강조했다.
이 도지사는 ‘2025 경북 경주 APEC’ 준비와 관련해서도 “우리 도가 역사에 남는 큰 업적을 남기고 그 업적을 이어갈 수 있는 포스트 APEC의 계기를 만들자”며 “철저한 준비”를 주문했다.
그는 “2025년 경북 경주 APEC 정상회의는 대한민국의 위상을 높이고, 신라 천년의 찬란한 유산을 계승한 경북을 세계에 알리는 역사적 전환점이 되어야 한다”면서“이를 위해 도청 전 부서가 총력을 기울여 철저한 준비로 대한민국 관광객 5%, 인재·물류 인프라 부족 등 경북이 안고 있는 내재적 한계를 극복하고 조상의 업적을 이어 세계적 도시로 도약하도록 실질적인 성과를 창출해야 한다”고 말했다.
