【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구지역 2026학년도 수능 지원자가 3년 연속 감소세를 깨고 증가세로 돌아섰다. 

대구시교육청은 수능 응시원서 접수 결과 25,494명이 지원했다고 8일 밝혔다.

지난 3년간 지속된 감소 흐름이 올해 반전되었다. 2023학년도 801명, 2024학년도 15명, 2025학년도 1명씩 줄어들던 지원자가 올해는 전년보다 1,148명 늘었다.

변화의 핵심은 재학생 증가다. 재학생 17,233명은 작년보다 1,636명 늘었고, 전체의 67.60%를 차지했다. 반면 졸업생은 7,137명으로 496명 줄었고, 검정고시 출신은 1,124명으로 8명 소폭 증가했다. 남녀 비율은 남자 12,996명(50.98%), 여자 12,498명(49.02%)이다.

국어영역은 99.48%(25,363명)가 선택했다. 화법과 작문 17,067명(66.95%), 언어와 매체 8,296명(32.54%)으로 화법과 작문이 압도적이다. 작년보다 화법과 작문은 4.85%p 늘고 언어와 매체는 줄어 쉬운 과목 선호가 더 뚜렷해졌다.

수학영역 선택자는 96.97%(24,723명)다. 확률과 통계 13,137명(51.53%), 미적분 10,652명(41.78%), 기하 934명(3.66%) 순이다. 확률과 통계는 10.78%p 크게 늘었지만 미적분은 13.65%p, 기하는 0.16%p 각각 줄었다.

탐구영역에서 문과 쏠림이 뚜렷하다. 전체 지원자의 98.40%(25,088명)가 선택했으며, 사회탐구 14,259명(55.93%), 과학탐구 6,418명(25.17%), 사회·과학탐구 4,294명(16.84%), 직업탐구 117명(0.46%) 순이다.

주목할 점은 작년 대비 변화폭이다. 사회탐구와 사회·과학탐구가 각각 10.78%p, 10.03%p 대폭 늘었지만 과학탐구는 22.48%p 크게 줄었다.

세부 과목별로는 사회탐구에서 사회·문화(12,903명), 생활과윤리(10,324명), 세계지리(2,142명)가 인기다. 과학탐구는 지구과학Ⅰ(6,613명), 생명과학Ⅰ(6,197명), 물리Ⅰ(2,117명) 순이며, 과학탐구Ⅱ는 1,003명으로 작년보다 205명 줄었다.

직업탐구는 인간발달(66명), 공업일반(36명)이 많고, 성공적인 직업생활은 76명이 선택해 작년보다 9명 늘었다.

영어영역은 99.04%(25,250명), 한국사영역은 필수로 전원이 선택했다. 제2외국어·한문영역은 15.30%(3,901명)가 선택해 작년보다 179명 늘었다. 일본어Ⅰ(1,341명), 한문Ⅰ(1,015명), 중국어Ⅰ(469명) 순으로 인기다.

전체 지원자 중 5개 영역 선택자는 20,436명(80.16%), 6개 영역 모두 선택자는 3,866명(15.16%)이다. 시험편의 제공 대상자는 28명으로 작년보다 5명 늘었다.

올해 처음 도입한 온라인 사전입력 시스템은 86.87%(22,149명)가 이용해 높은 활용도를 보였다.

대구시교육청 관계자는 "재학생 증가로 전체 지원자가 늘었고, 과학탐구 감소와 사회탐구 증가가 특히 주목된다"며 "한국사는 필수 영역으로 미응시 시 수능 전체가 무효 처리되니 반드시 유의해야 한다"고 강조했다.

The number of applicants for the 2026 CSAT in the Daegu area has broken the three-year downward trend and is now on the rise.

Probability and Statistics saw a significant increase of 10.78 percentage points, while Calculus and Geometry saw decreases of 13.65 percentage points and 0.16 percentage points, respectively.

There was a clear bias toward liberal arts in the inquiry field. 98.40% (25,088 applicants) of all applicants chose Social Studies (14,259 applicants, 55.93%), Science Studies (6,418 applicants, 25.17%), Social and Science Studies (4,294 applicants, 16.84%), and Career Studies (117 applicants, 0.46%).

Notable is the extent of the change compared to last year. Social Studies and Social and Science Studies saw significant increases of 10.78 percentage points and 10.03 percentage points, respectively, while Science Studies saw a significant decrease of 22.48 percentage points.

By subject, Social Studies was most popular with Social Studies and Culture (12,903 students), Life and Ethics (10,324 students), and World Geography (2,142 students). Science Exploration was most popular with Earth Science I (6,613 students), Life Science I (6,197 students), and Physics I (2,117 students). Science Exploration II was 1,003 students, a decrease of 205 students from last year.

In Career Exploration, Human Development (66 students) and General Engineering (36 students) were the most popular subjects, while Successful Career Life was chosen by 76 students, an increase of 9 students from last year.

English was chosen by 99.04% (25,250 students), and Korean History was mandatory for all students. Second Foreign Language and Chinese Classics was chosen by 15.30% (3,901 students), an increase of 179 students from last year. Japanese I (1,341 applicants), Chinese Characters I (1,015 applicants), and Chinese I (469 applicants) were the most popular subjects.

An official from the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education emphasized, "The overall number of applicants has increased due to the increase in enrolled students, and the decrease in Science Exploration and the increase in Social Studies are particularly noteworthy." He added, "Korean History is a required subject, and failure to take it will invalidate the entire CSAT, so please be mindful."
