【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=가수 이찬원의 모교인 영남대학교에 이찬원 엄마팬클럽이 6년 연속 장학금을 기탁하며 따뜻한 나눔을 이어가고 있다.

엄마팬클럽은 지난 5일 영남대학교 본관을 찾아 학생들을 위한 장학금 1,000만 원을 전달했다. 

이 장학금은 2020년 처음 시작된 이후 올해로 6번째다. 지금까지 '이찬원 장학기금' 누적 금액은 8,500만 원을 넘어섰다.

엄마팬클럽은 이찬원의 생일을 맞아 의미 있는 선물을 준비하자는 취지에서 장학기부를 시작했으며, 점차 꾸준한 나눔 문화로 정착했다. 

팬클럽 회장은 "이찬원의 선한 영향력이 팬들에게 자연스럽게 전해지면서 작은 나눔이 6년 동안 이어질 수 있었다"며 "이찬원의 성장을 지켜봐 준 영남대에 감사하는 마음으로 학생들에게 응원의 뜻을 전하고 싶다"고 말했다.

영남대학교는 이 기탁금을 '이찬원 장학기금'으로 적립해 2022년부터 매년 장학생을 선발하고 있다.

올해도 2025학년도 장학생 14명이 선정되어, 이날 행사에서 장학증서를 받았다. 엄마팬클럽 회원들은 장학생 한 명 한 명에게 직접 장학증서를 전달하며 격려의 말을 전했다.

최외출 총장은 "매년 변함없는 따뜻한 기부에 깊이 감사드린다"면서 "이찬원 씨와 팬클럽이 보여주는 선한 영향력은 지역 사회에 귀감이 되고 있다"고 밝혔다.

Singer Lee Chan-won's moms' fan club has continued its warm sharing by donating scholarships to Yeungnam University, his alma mater, for the sixth consecutive year.

Yeungnam University has established this donation as the "Lee Chan-won Scholarship Fund," and will select scholarship recipients annually starting in 2022.

This year, 14 scholarship recipients for the 2025 academic year were selected and received scholarship certificates at the event. Members of the Moms' Fan Club personally presented each scholarship recipient with their certificates and offered words of encouragement.

President Choi Oe-chul stated, "I am deeply grateful for the unwavering generosity of donations each year. The positive influence demonstrated by Lee Chan-won and his fan club is a role model for the local community."
