산불재난 국가위기경보는 산불 위험 정도에 따라 ‘관심–주의–경계–심각’ 4단계로 운영되며, 이번 ‘경계’ 단계 발령은 산불 예방을 위한 선제적 대응 차원에서 이뤄졌다.

대구시에 따르면 최근 10년간 지역 내에서 발생한 산불 134건을 분석한 결과, 입산자 실화로 인한 산불이 65건으로 전체의 약 50%를 차지해 가장 큰 원인으로 나타났다. 특히 시민 이용이 많은 주 등산로보다 인적이 드문 샛길에서 산불이 집중적으로 발생한 것으로 분석됐다.

김정기 대구광역시장 권한대행 행정부시장은 “산불재난 국가위기경보 ‘경계’ 단계가 1월에 발령된 것은 역사상 처음”이라며 “그만큼 산불 위험이 높은 상황인 만큼 산림 내·연접지 흡연과 불법 소각 행위 금지, 화목보일러 재 처리 등에 시민들의 각별한 주의가 필요하다”고 강조했다.

이어 “앞으로도 산불 위험구간을 중심으로 한 선별적 통제를 통해 시민 안전은 강화하고, 불편은 최소화하는 실효성 있는 산불 예방 정책을 지속적으로 추진하겠다”고 밝혔다.
