국민의힘 교육위원회가 더불어민주당의 추경심사 보이콧을 규탄하는 성명서를 발표했다.
국민의힘 교육위원회는 “국회는 코로나의 위급하고 엄중한 상황을 극복하기 위해 정부의 조속한 처리요청에 부응하여 하루 빨리 심사를 완료하고 국민의 어려움을 덜어드려야 한다”면서 “국민의힘은 조속한 심사를 위해 더불어민주당에 전체회의를 열고 예산결산소위원회 심사와 의결을 요청했다”고 밝혔다.
그러나 더불어민주당은 추경 심사 외에 법안소위 일정도 함께 확정하자며 추경심사 일정을 진행하지 않자 이에 국민의힘 교육위원회는 “추경심사가 시급하지 않다는 것을 민주당이 직접 보여주고 있다”며 규탄에 나섰다.
이들은 “여당의 간사는 이재명 후보의 선거캠프에서 수석대변인을 맡아 경선 과정에서 TV토론회 준비, 후보의 흠결을 디펜스 하느라 여념이 없어 보인다”면서 “교육위원장도 국가교육위원회법 처리에는 야당과 협의없이 일방적으로 회의를 개최하고 일사천리로 법안을 통과시키더니 이번 추경심사에는 일언반구 어떻게 하자는 연락도 없다”며 비판을 이어갔다.
이어 “당장 내일부터 국회 예산결산특별위원회의 심사가 시작되는데 이대로라면 교육위원회는 예비심사를 열어보지도 못한 채 추경심사 시간이 지나갈 것”이라고 지적하며 “더불어민주당이 진정으로 국민을 위한다면 추경 심사에 여러가지 조건을 달지말고 회의장으로 복귀하라”고 촉구했다.
아울러 이들은 “이번 교육위 추경심사가 무산된다면 이에 대한 책임은 더불어민주당에 있다”고 거듭 강조를 전했다.
한편 교육위원회는 추가 배정되는 지방교육배정교부금 6조 3,658억원과 고졸취업 희망자·전문대학생의 취업 역량 강화사업, 직업계고 실습지원 멘토링 사업, 코로나 상황에서 대학방역 인력 지원사업 등 350억 규모의 신규 사업이 추경으로 편성되어 이에 대한 심사를 진행해야한다.
