대구·경북보건복지단체연대회의는 23일 성명서를 내고" 대구의료원은 인력, 장비, 시설 등 전 부분에서 중앙정부와 지방정부의 행정적, 재정적 지원이 절대적으로 필요하나, 대구시는 필수의료체계 구축이라는 명분으로 너무 손쉽게 경북대병원에 위탁하려 하고 있다. 경북대병원에 위탁만 한다고 공공의료가 저절로 강화되지는 않는다"고 꼬집었다.

이어 "경북대병원은 민간병원과 유사하게 수익 중심으로 운영하고 진료하다 보니 무늬만 공공병원이라는 비판을 받아왔다. 이런 대학병원에 위탁하는 것은 공공의료를 포기하고 민영화하는 것과 다름없다."며" 위탁 운영시 대구의료원의 공공성이 훼손될 우려가 크다"고 지적했다.
