이와 같은 사태를 두고 정치 탄압과 법치주의 훼손이라는 주장이 첨예하게 대립되는 가운데 더불어민주당 대구시당이 검찰의 압수수색을 규탄하는 기자회견을 연것이다.

21일 오전 10시 대구지방검찰청 앞에서 열린 기자회견을 통해 민주당 대구시당은 “윤석열 정부와 검찰의 무도한 야당 탄압을 결코 용납하지 않겠다.”며 목소리를 높였다.

이들은 “임명된 지 한 달도 채 되지 않는 김용 민주연구원 부원장은 상근직도 아니라 다른 사람들과 함께 사용하는 공용 컴퓨터를 사용했다.”면서 “상식적으로 공용 컴퓨터에 1년 6개월 전 불법 대선자금을 수수한 증거를 남겨 놓았을지도 모른다는 이유로 압수수색을 하겠다는 검찰의 주장은 가당치도 않다.”고 꼬집었다.

강민구 시당위원장은 “국민의힘은 그렇게 당당하면 압수수색에 응하면 되지 뭐가 그리 겁이 나느냐 라는 식의 논평을 냈다. 그러나 갑작스럽게 경찰이나 검찰이 들이닥쳐서 압수수색을 하겠다고 하면 무슨 이유인지 묻고 항변하는 것이 당연한 국민의 권리”라고 목소리를 높였다.

그러면서 “검찰 뒤에는 윤석열 대통령이 있다는 생각을 하고 있다는 것을 얼라(어린아이)도 알고 있을 것이라 생각한다.”고 주장하며 “검찰은 털어 먼지 안 나오나 끝까지 한번 털어보자는 식으로 더불어민주당을 탄압하고 있다.”고 비판했다.

강 위원장은 “도저히 있을 수 없는 일이 일어났다.”면서 “무도한 정권의 정치보복행태를 강하게 규탄한다."고 덧붙였다.
