이날 행사에 앞서 취재진과 만난 송 전 대표는 같은 날 이재명 대표가 기자회견을 열어 대장동 특혜 의혹 관련 특검을 제안한 것에 대해 자신의 입장을 밝혔다.

송영길 전 대표는 “이재명 대표가 밝힌 것처럼 전 검찰총장 출신 대통령 체제에서 한동훈 법무부장관이 주재하는 검찰의 공정성을 믿기 어렵다.”고 설명하면서 “특검을 통과시켜서 수사를 마무리해야한다.”고 강조했다.

앞서 이재명 대표는 국회에서 특별 기자회견을 열고 “대장동 개발 및 화천대유 실체 규명은 물론 결과적으로 비리 세력의 종잣돈을 지켜준 대통령의 부산저축은행 수사의 문제점과 의혹, 그와 관련된 허위사실 공표 의혹에 대해 조사해야 한다.”며 특검을 제안했다.
