【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=국민의힘 대구선거대책위원회가 29일 오전 수성구의회 1층 범어1동 사전투표소에서 사전투표를 진행하며 본격적인 지지층 결집에 나섰다. 

주호영 대구선대위원장을 비롯한 대구지역 국회의원들이 일제히 참석한 가운데, 현장에서는 TK(대구·경북) 지역의 지지율, 단일화 무산, 김문수 후보의 전망 등을 두고 다양한 발언이 이어졌다.

주호영 위원장은 최근 발표된 TK 지역 지지율에 대해 “조사 표본이 적고, 응답자가 제한적이기 때문에 실제 민심을 반영하지 못한다”며 “거대한 민심은 다르다. 유세 현장에서 만나는 시민들은 대한민국의 진로와 지도자를 명확히 인식하고 있다”고 말했다.

그는 “이번 선거는 과거에 대한 회고나 심판이 아니라 미래를 위한 선택”이라며 “국민들은 결국 기대를 담아 표를 던질 것이고, 김문수 후보를 선택할 것이라고 믿는다”고 강조했다.

이준석 후보와의 단일화가 무산된 데 대해서는 “아쉬움은 있지만, 유권자들이 실질적인 단일화를 이뤄줄 것”이라며 “사표를 피하려는 심리와 나라를 위한 선택이 표심에 반영될 것”이라고 말했다.

최근 일부 여론조사에서 국민의힘의 대구·경북 지지율이 예전보다 낮게 나타나는 점에 대해서는 “민주당이 30%를 목표로 삼았다고 하지만, 나머지 70%는 우리와 나눠가질 몫”이라며 “내부 조사에선 국민의힘이 여전히 70% 이상의 지지를 얻고 있다”고 밝혔다.

홍준표 대구시장이 페이스북을 통해 당에 쓴소리를 한 것에 대해선 “할 말은 많지만 언급하지 않겠다”고 말을 아꼈다.

TK 지역의 대선 전·후 역할에 대해 주 위원장은 “TK는 오랫동안 국가 전체의 균형을 위해 대의 명분에 따라 선택해왔다”며 “우리 당의 지지율이 낮아지는 것은 반성해야 할 부분이며, 더 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.

국민의힘 대구선대위는 이날 사전투표 참여를 통해 결속력을 다지는 한편, 본투표일까지 지지층을 적극적으로 끌어모으겠다는 전략이다.
