권영진 대구시장은 4일 수성구 수성동1가 행정복지센터 사전투표소에서 부인 이정원 여사와 함께 투표하고 시민들에게 빠짐없이 투표해 줄 것을 당부했다.
권 시장은 투표를 마치고 “다음 대통령과 함께 대한민국이 국민통합의 시대로 나아가고, 경제가 다시 성장하는 나라가 되기를 바라는 간절한 마음으로 사전투표에 임했다”며 “시민들도 꼭 투표에 참여해 주고, 특히 사전투표 제도를 적극 활용해달라”고 말했다.
제20대 대통령선거 투표는 9일 오전 6시부터 오후 6시까지 대구시내 8개 구·군 142개 읍면동 636개 투표소에서 이뤄진다. 유권자 수는 19대 대통령선거보다 2천 525명(0.12%) 늘어난 204만 5천 801명이다.
선거가 코앞으로 다가옴에 따라 사전투표로도 관심이 모아지고 있다. 사전투표는 142개 읍면동 투표소에서 이날부터 5일까지 오전 6시부터 오후 6시에 할 수 있다.
역대 선거와 달리 이번 선거에서는 공직선거법이 개정돼 코로나19 확진자 및 자가격리자의 투표권이 보장됨에 따라 사전투표 둘째날인 5일은 오후 6시까지, 본 투표일인 9일에는 오후 6시부터 7시30분까지 투표가 가능하다.
