계명대(총장 신일희)와 새마을운동중앙회(회장 염홍철)가 국가 및 지역발전과 인재 양성을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

지난 5일 오전 11시, 계명대 성서캠퍼스 본관 제1회의실에서 열린 업무협약식은 신일희 계명대 총장과 염홍철 새마을운동중앙회장, 최영수 대구광역시새마을회장 및 관계자들이 참석했다.

이번 협약으로 양 기관은 국기 및 지역 혁신성장과 인재 양성을 위한 적극적인 상호 협력과 새마을운동 동아리 운영 및 관리 지원을 통해 대학생 간 교류 협력 강화를 약속했다.

협약의 주요내용은 ▲지역 산업과 지역 혁신성장 연계 공동사업 개발 ▲탄소 중립 실현을 위한 상호 협력 ▲대학 내 대학생 새마을운동 동아리 운영‧관리 지원 ▲국내외 새마을운동 봉사활동 관련 프로그램 대학생 참여 ▲교육‧학술 관련 연구 및 행사의 지원‧참여 ▲그 밖에 상호 협력이 필요하다고 인정되는 사항 등이다.

신일희 총장은“새마을운동중앙회와 손잡고 새마을운동 정신을 통해 사회에 공헌하고, 지역발전을 함께 만들어 갈 수 있어 기쁘게 생각한다”고 말했다.

염홍철 새마을운동중앙회장은 “우리나라의 제2의 도약을 이끌 MZ세대들이 새마을운동을 통해 선한 영향력을 끼칠 수 있도록 전국조직을 창단하기를 희망한다”고 전하며 “지역을 대표하는 계명대학교의 학생들과 새로운 도약을 함께 함께 할 수 있어 기쁘다”고 전했다.
