【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=계명대(총장 신일희)가 3년 만에 대학축제를 개최하며 캠퍼스에 활기를 되찾아 가고 있다.

지난 16일부터 3일 동안 열린 대동제에서 계명대 총학생회는 즐길거리 뿐만 아니라 다양한 프로그램들을 진행했다.

첫째 날에는 오후 1시 30분부터 5시 30분까지 4시간 동안 ‘WALK 123’걷기대회를 통해 계명대 성서캠퍼스에서 강정고령보를 왕복하는 10Km구간을 2,500여 명의 학생들이 걸으며 주변 환경개선 활동을 가졌다.

둘째 날에는 금연 캠페인, 킥보드 안전 캠페인 등을 가지기도 하고 플리마켓을 통해 서로 필요한 물품을 교환하기도 했다. 마지막날 폐회와 함께 초대가수들의 공연에는 5만 명의 인파가 몰리며 장관을 이루고 모두가 한 마음으로 일상회복을 기원했다.

축제가 끝난 19일 저녁 6시부터 7시까지는 계명대 창립123주년을 기념해 계명대 총장이 주관하는 ‘치맥가든 파티’도 열렸다. 

성서캠퍼스 동산도서관 앞 분수대에서 열린 이번 행사는 지난 3년 동안 코로나19에 지친 학생들을 격려하고 앞으로의 대학생활에 활기를 되찾기 위해 마련됐다. 500명의 재학생을 사전 선착순으로 신청 받아 테이블 당(6인용) 치킨 2마리, 피자 1판, 수제맥주와 콜라를 각 1병씩 무료로 제공했다. 

맥주는 이재하 계명대 동창회장이 후배들을 위해 제공했다. 또한, 지역경제 활성화를 위해 맥주는 지역의 수제맥주로 준비됐다.

알랜 미19지원 사령관 내외를 비롯해 한측부사령관 배종화 대령 내외와 작전처장 프라자리엘 카스트로 대령은 특별초청을 받아 학생들과 함께했다. 계명대 외국인 교수와 계명대 뮤직프로덕션전공 학생 밴드의 공연도 함께하며, 분위기를 한층 더 끌어올렸다.

행사에 참석한 의용공학과 김여린 학생은“대학에 입학해서 처음으로 대학생이 됐다는 것을 몸으로 느낄 수 있었던 시간이었다.”며  “오늘 치맥가든 파티 또한 평소 잘 뵙지 못하는 총장님을 직접 뵙고 짧지만 이야기를 나누며, 학생들과 소통하는 시간을 가질 수 있어서 더욱 의미가 있었다.”고 말했다. 

신일희 계명대 총장은 “지난 3년 동안 코로나19는 우리에게 많은 것들을 빼앗아갔다. 사회적 거리두기가 완화되며 점차 일상을 회복해 나가고 있어 다행으로 생각한다.”며, “오늘 이 자리를 통해 다시 활력을 되찾고, 새로운 미래를 함께 맞이해 나가는 계기가 되길 바란다.”고 학생들을 격려했다.

Beer was provided by Keimyung University alumni president Lee Jae-ha for his juniors. In addition, to revitalize the local economy, beer was prepared from local craft beer.

Commander Alan U.S. 19 Support Commander and his wife, along with the ROK side commander, Colonel Bae Jong-hwa, and the deputy chief of operations, Colonel Prasariel Castro, were specially invited to join the students. A foreign professor at Keimyung University and a band of Keimyung University Music Production students also performed together, raising the atmosphere even more.

Kim Yeo-rin, a biomedical engineering student who attended the event, said, “It was a time when I was able to feel firsthand that I was a college student after entering the university.” It was even more meaningful to have time to communicate with the students.”

Shin Il-hee, president of Keimyung University, said, “In the past three years, COVID-19 has taken away a lot of things from us. I am happy that social distancing is being eased and we are gradually recovering our daily life.” He encouraged the students, saying, “I hope that this event will be an opportunity to regain vitality and welcome a new future together.”
