권택흥 더불어민주당 대구 달서구 갑 지역위원장이 대구시당 위원장 선거 출마에 나섰다.
권택흥 위원장은 “대구민주당은 대선 패배와 지방선거 공천파행으로 발생된 당내 갈등과 분열로 존폐의 위기에 직면했다”면서 “분골쇄신의 각오로 대구시민들에겐 대안정당, 당원들에겐 자긍심을 주는 대구민주당을 만들겠다.”며 포부를 전했다.
이어 그는 ‘윤석열 정부의 검찰독재로 인한 민주주의와 민생의 위협’ ‘경제와 민생을 지키지 못한 민주당의 오만’ ‘대구민주당, 대표선수 왜소와 지역 내 존재감 약화’ ‘대구민주당 내에 만연한 갈등과 분열’을 대구민주당이 위기에 빠진 주된 이유라고 밝히며 스스로를 “당내 갈등과 분열을 수습하고 유능한 대구시당으로 재도약하기 위해 당의 상황을 잘 알고 혁신과 통합의 리더십을 가진 최고 적임자”라고 강조했다.
권 위원장은 “지난 3년간 총선출마부터 지역위원장을 맡아 대선과 지방선거까지 정신없이 달려왔지만, 대구시당의 무능과 무기력에 자괴감을 느꼈다.”면서 “지난 총선에 함께 출마하고 지역위원장을 맡았던 12명 중에 이제 지역위원장은 나 혼자 남았기 때문에 대구민주당에 대한 책임감이 누구보다 크고 무겁다”고 전했다.
아울러 “이번 시당위원장 선거에 많은 분이 출마를 준비하시는 만큼 정정당당하게 경쟁하고 대구민주당의 미래를 당원들과 치열하게 모색하는 계기가 되었으면 좋겠다.”고 밝혔다.

Chairman Kwon said, “I have run frantically from running for the general election to the regional chairperson for the past three years, but I felt embarrassed by the incompetence and helplessness of the Daegu City Party. Now that the regional chairperson is left alone, the responsibility for the Daegu Democratic Party is bigger and heavier than anyone else.”
In addition, he said, "As many people are preparing to run for the city's chairperson this year, I hope it will serve as an opportunity to compete fairly and fiercely explore the future of the Daegu Democratic Party with party members."
