시는 이번 평가 결과를 바탕으로 취약 분야를 보다 면밀히 분석하고, 제도 개선과 점검을 병행해 실효성 있는 청렴 시책을 지속적으로 추진할 계획이다. 이를 통해 시민이 체감하는 행정 신뢰도를 높이고, 청렴 선도도시로서의 위상을 한층 공고히 한다는 방침이다.

김장호 구미시장은 “2년 연속 종합청렴도 2등급 달성은 전 직원이 책임감과 사명감을 갖고 청렴한 공직문화를 만들어 온 결과”라며 “앞으로도 취약 분야를 지속적으로 점검하고 불합리한 제도를 개선해 시민이 체감하는 청렴 행정이 정착되도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

한편 종합청렴도는 민원인과 내부 직원을 대상으로 한 설문조사를 통해 부패 인식과 경험을 측정하는 ‘청렴체감도’, 반부패 정책 추진 실적을 평가하는 ‘청렴노력도’, 부패 발생에 따른 감점 요소를 종합 반영해 산정하는 공공기관 청렴 수준 진단 지표다.
