핵심 거점은 스마트제조 푸드테크 연구지원센터다. 구미시는 농림축산식품부의 '2026년 푸드테크 연구지원센터 구축' 공모에 최종 선정돼, 2026년부터 2028년까지 3년간 선산읍 이문리 일원에 총 282억 원을 투입한다. 국비 125억 원이 포함된 이번 사업을 통해 연면적 약 3,574㎡ 규모의 스마트 제조 실증·연구 시설이 조성된다.
